Cote: I'll drag Silva into deep waters

Patrick Cote has warned Anderson Silva he will have to do something he has never done before if he wants to hang on to his middleweight title at “UFC 90”: Go five rounds inside The Octagon.

Cote has worked his way up the 185lb ladder for a title challenge, yet he is largely thought of as cannon fodder in a growing line of Anderson Silva victims.

Even the Canadian knows the size of his task, admitting: “Silva’s biggest strength is…everything. This guy is the best fighter in the world.”
Silva (22-4-0) has never been five rounds in The UFC. He hasn’t even been past round two. He hasn’t had to.
That seven-win streak has listed five shattering knock-outs, yet Cote has never been KO’d in his 17-fight career.
Now he is promising to take the brilliant Brazilian into the deep waters of the fifth round in order to break his legend inside The Octagon.
